20-20 Yoga & Meditation for Transformation is a free online 20 days of combined 20 minutes of movement and 20 minutes of meditation. You can access each day by clicking on the days above. This is a class for everyone, especially those who are ready to make lasting change in their lives. This includes those who have never tried yoga before and do not presently practice mediation – It is a safe place to start. It involves making daily transitions for overall transformation combing the power of mindfulness, movement and meditation.
It is impossible to go through life without facing some sort of trauma. Some of those challenges are more impactful than others and can cause us to lack confidence in ourselves and lose sight of who we really are and were meant to be. These emotional, mental and/or physical traumas take their toll, preventing us from being able to do the things we used to. It is not all in your head – and yet in many ways it is.
Through experience, I know for sure that by combining a physical component with meditation and goal setting we can rediscover our true-selves – body, mind and soul.
Take time to feel and reconnect with yourself and the Universe, Spirit or God each day to help you maintain healthy connections with All, yourself and with others. No matter what aspect of wellness your goal is in, as you build the solid foundation of trust, you will not only notice your body grow stronger and healthier, but you will see the positive changes occur in every aspect of your life.
Remember to only do what feels right for you, your life and your body. Part of this challenge involves listening to yourself and honouring what your body tells you. You may choose to only do the meditation practice some days, and you can also split up the yoga and meditation doing one in the morning and one later in the day. Today, on this January full moon, which is referred to as the Wolf Moon, our practice is in honour of the fullness and perfection that can only be found in nature.
The Wolf Moon is named after the howling wolves that can be heard during this time of year; although, I have learned that wolves don’t, in fact howl, at the moon, they are howling because it is their breeding season, which means that anywhere from two to two-and-a-half months later pups will be born. The wolf-pack expands.
Mindfulness: Think about a time when the perfection of nature has inspired you. Let this Wolf Moon be an inspiration for you to utilize and enjoy the abundant healing qualities given freely to us by our natural world. Everything you need to live your best life with the most energy and vitality is given to you, you just have to tap into it. Feel the energy and nutrients that our environment provides – everywhere from oxygen to negative ions to nutritional and medicinal plants. Be fully present on this first full moon of 2020 and feel your mind and body awaken to the natural and joyful prosperity that is already yours.
This age of “never enough time,” leaves us feeling like we have to “make time,” which is illusionary because we can’t make time, it has already been gifted to us – we are alive.
Give me twenty! Remember those words? They meant 20 push-ups or 20 laps, usually to correct a behaviour. Incorporating movement to change a behaviour is not a new concept, neither is reaping the health benefits of exercising for 20 minutes.
Mindfulness:Think of one area of your life or one activity where 20 minutes used to be enough, and now if it is only 20, then why bother? When did that way of thinking happen? I hope you start doing this 20 minutes again and know that it is enough. And while you are at it, remind yourself that you too are enough and what you do is more enough.

Even though flying seems like the more difficult part, true success depends on the groundwork – the grounding. This includes what you do in the present in preparation to soar, as well as planning how you are going to land.
In gymnastics, before one is taught how to fly, they are first taught how to jump, how to land – and how to fall. How aligned you remain the entire way, from beginning to end, will determine the landing. groundwork – the grounding – and what you do in the present as preparation to soar and planning how you are going to land. I still call a wheel a bridge, because of my past as a gymnast, which was my introduction to learning to build strength, balance and flexibility in order to ground, fly land and fall – and get back up.
Mindfulness: When you say yes to something, you say no to something else. Be sure that what you are saying no to is not your purpose, your essence, your dharma, your gift or what you know. And be sure what you are saying yes to is part of the solid foundation you will need when you are ready to fly.
What do you need to stop saying “yes” to because you think you “should” and yet it leaves you frail and empty? What will you start saying “yes” to because it is what you know in your entire being and it provides you with strength and empowerment? Each of us has a unique and individual gift, what is your gift? Say yes to that.

As you begin to really open in your body through yoga and your mind through meditation you will notice a greater need for self-awareness throughout your days in order to avoid confusion, congestion and sometimes confliction – inner and outer. Things that used to be “normal” may no longer seem so and situations that may have bothered you before, you no longer notice. The next seven days will focus on the present and the power of the present. Today we will work on being present, enlightened and aware – without attachment.
Mindfulness: What do you know for sure today? Why is this understanding or knowledge important to you? How did this come to be? What transformations have you noticed take place already in the past week: body, mind and soul?
You have a right to knowledge and understanding and then you have a right to detach from all that it brings. Believe it or not, you know things that others don’t know because you know it as you. As much as there may be a responsibility that comes with knowledge, there also needs to be a surrender. Learn to let go so that you can just be present in the knowing. You don’t need to change everything or anything in one particular moment, change happens over time. In order to be the change it has to become who you are.
Our past includes our day. So when we refer to letting go of the past, that includes what happened in our day. Practicing yoga and meditation at the end of a long day prepares one’s mind and body for a good night’s sleep and peaceful dreams – which, in turn, prepares you for an even better tomorrow.
Mindfulness: We become what we remember. This is often affected by “how” we remember. What is whirling through your mind at the end of your days you would like to lay to rest? How does this mirror what whirls through your mind from your past that you know you need to release? This can become like a tornado pulling in more and more of the same or similar experiences because that is what you are attracting.
Why are you attracting it? Because you see it – with your eyes, your third-eye, your intuition, your various levels of consciousness and subconsciousness. This programming is your body’s and nature’s way of keeping you safe from danger. So, if you are in fact safe, this is something that needs to be healed and put to rest.
Each time we embark on an intentional or unintentional transformation or change, there is always that space and time called transition. In a perfect dance it is the moment when one is suspended in mid-air, or when two partners are reaching for each other, yet there is not contact. It is the top of a deep inhale, the second before the exhale. It is a time of anticipation, and where one remains fairly still to be sure not to miss the next beat.
Mindfulness: What word or words come to mind when you imagine this suspension in time? Excitement, trust, hopeful, focus, beauty, freedom? Perhaps that is how you are feeling today.
Today you may be suspended in mid-air, but you are also doing it! Bring to mind or write down the word you chose from Day 3 that describes how will you will feel when you reach the goal or intention you set. How will you feel when that moment arrives when you touch that hand or the solid ground below and raise your arms in triumph? When you finally have that clarity or focus? When you land that job, or find that partner, or lose those pounds or are truly done with that unhealthy habit. What are you feeling? Feel that along with pride in yourself for taking this big step and feel the excitement, trust, hope, focus, beauty and freedom that comes with the exhilarating suspension and the faithful unknowns.
Today you are swinging and twirling, waiting to exhale, to leap or land, to catch or throw, to begin or end. You are in mid-air. And remember: this as your show! it is beautiful and fascinating so just enjoy it.
On the path towards our dreams sometimes we must reconnect. The word stray is a significant word on this journey to our dreams. One of its synonyms is isolate, which is very telling as to what happens when we are lost in life. When one has wandered too far in a wrong direction there is a loss of connection with one’s self, others and the Universe – with God. Isolation leaves us vulnerable to become preyed upon and fall victim. And it can occur in any aspect of wellness.
Mindfulness: Which aspect of wellness is most in need of improvement or that you are seeking greater fulfillment? Come up with one word as a description of what it is you are feeling or how you would describe its present state. Because your life is like ecosystem, you will see how this is exact word is somehow recurring in every aspect. Sometimes it is helpful to look at an aspect of wellness that is going well and ask what is “off,” or how it could use improvement. How you describe this seemingly insignificant lack will be very significant in the aspect that you have strayed from the farthest.
Whatever transformation is occurring for you through the goal you set, it is something that you need – a new beginning of sorts.
And now, give yourself permission to quit.
Mindfulness: Not giving ourselves permission to quit, or to soften, or step back and make adjustments that will serve our needs in the best possible way, is often why we find ourselves in need of a significant transformation or change.
Think of times where instead of treating yourself lovingly, you pushed through or perhaps even numbed? How is your body is now seeing the effects of past abuse, your finances are seeing the effects of your ego or what have you become addicted to as a substitute for self-care:: food, cigarettes, alcohol or drugs? All instead of using your voice and becoming your own advocate.
Giving yourself permission to quit means that before you jeopardize yourself in any way, you will listen to that little voice in your head and follow your gut instinct. If a situation does not feel right, it usually isn’t. Respect your own wisdom and the wisdom that is constantly offered to you by the Universe and surrender. It is very important in these 20 days that you modify where you need to. Rest when you need to and push where you need to because this is your journey.
When we think about or hear the word “core” we often think about our front six-pack-not area. But, it is also our mid to lower back, which is just as important to keep strong. When we relate this to our life, it brings to light that what is behind us, our past, is very significant in how we stand, move forward and face what is in front of us. No matter what your past involved, let it be part of your strength for your future, not a weakness, by releasing the toxicity and keeping the vitality.
Mindfulness: Transformation is constant because it is a result of change, and change is the only guarantee in life. Without change, there is no life; therefore, whatever transformation you are about to embark on, make it part of the twists and twirls and swirl it into the dance of your life. Make this transformation part of your forever dance.

It’s been 20 years since the new millennium. Where were you at the beginning of 2000? Who were you? What were you doing? What did you hope for? What dreams came true?
Change is inevitable, so let’s transform with intention.
On this 20 day journey, no matter what your ultimate goal or resolution is, you will also be creating new and healthy habits and removing toxins and blockages – both in your life and your body. As you grow and move towards your goal, you will slowly uncover – and come to know – your true essence, which is who you are and what you require to be your best self. Once you know your essence and your true purpose, you can use it as a compass, so that no matter what you are doing, you will be able to fall in love with life each day and live in peaceful joy and contentment.
